Um...what just happened?!

Fan Club, you've caught me in a rare state of speechlessness.

Cause...um...

What the heck happened to 2014?!

Perhaps it's my age catching up with me, (Somebody's turning 40 in June. *coughs* *hacks* *jams a knife into her chest before the fateful event actually happens*) but if not for the continuous Macy's year-end interruptions commercials I'd swear that it was still March!

WHERE. DOES. THE. TIME. GO?

Thing is, when I actually stop long enough to reflect
on what's gone down in my world,
I have to admit that Carson Daily has shown up right on time.

In the last twelve months I have:

Signed my first book,
sent a kid off to sixth grade,
cried sad tears with my best friend,
drank beers with my editor,
met amazing, talented people,
toughed out some ugly reviews,
visited my main character's actual home,
wrote a new book,
embarked on lifelong friendships,
cried happy tears with my best friend,
read insanely good books,
danced with Mickey Mouse,
edited an old book,
written terrible blog posts,
become addicted to PhotoBucket,
prayed. A lot.
Traveled with six of my soul mates,
said incredibly stupid things at the wrong time,
bruised my tailbone on a children's toy,
laughed until I cried,
eaten pounds of guacamole,
cried until I laughed,
swallowed my pride,
learned that no one will ever love my books as much as I do,
watched a lot of TV,
worried about things that are out of my control,
sought wisdom,
indulged in my family,
judged unfairly,
sang out of key. Loudly.
Become a fan of #hashtags,
grown to despise Tumblr,
hugged hard,
counted the colors in a sunset...
and a sunrise.
 Learned to trust more,
enjoyed champagne on a school night,
and most of all,
marveled at the generosity of others.

Huh...No wonder I'm so tired.
2014 was an exciting, stressful, thrilling, terrifying,
humbling, frustrating and amazing year.

Thanks for sharing it with me.

Ho, Ho, HOLY CRAP! A Christmas giveaway!

...we interrupt our regularly scheduled
blog post to bring you
this important news from YA author Eric Devine.

Ah, the holidays. Your stress level is through the roof, your credit card is sweating from the workout at the register, and you have a list that would make Santa say, “Ho, Ho, hold the phone.”

No worries, I have the perfect solution: free books.

Whether you have a reluctant or avid teen reader to buy for, or you know an adult who would love something kick-ass to read as a stocking stuffer, or if you are treating yourself with an escape hatch from this crazy time of year, step under the mistletoe of my books.

Okay, so my novels are more like getting punched in the face and then having the mistletoe shoved into your mouth, but still, fun times.

Here, I present my gifts, my collection of work from Running Press:

PRESS PLAY    When Greg Dunsmore begins filming his weight loss documentary, he never intends to film the hazing rituals of the high school’s beloved lacrosse team. Once he does, he must find somewhere to go with his evidence, before he is discovered and everything is turned against him.

DARE ME    Teenage friends participate in increasingly dangerous stunts, which are posted to YouTube, first as a prank and then for money from an unknown financeer.

TAP OUT     With no way out of his life of poverty, abuse, and threat of a meth-dealing biker gang, Tony turns to the MMA gym with his friend, Rob, as an outlet. Will the gym be enough to help Tony find an escape?

Oh, you need more enticement?

Here, book trailers for Press Play and Dare Me.

Yes, now you’re intrigued.

I would have made a trailer for Tap Out, but Santa would have cried. He’s super-sensitive.
So you’ll just have to imagine. Think dark; no, darker, with lots of F-bombs and punches. Maybe redemption? Maybe.

So, enter the contest.

You have nearly a month to better your chances of winning by tweeting and following and doing all the other social media shenanigans that are expected. (Santa’s crying, again. Sorry, Santa, it’s what we do.)

So, yay for YA that is intense and intriguing. And yay for free gifts for the holidays. And yay for you for stopping by and putting your name into the hat. Who knows, your New Year could be filled with all things Devine :)

...Hey guys, it's Bethany again and OHMYGAWD!!
