Several weeks ago I asked you to vote for your favorite John Hughes flick (Your choices were: SIXTEEN CANDLES, THE BREAKFAST CLUB, SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL and PRETTY IN PINK)in an effort to help me with my next Cupid's Arrow challenge over at the YA Valentines' blog.
Well, you did your job, Fan Club. (gift packs will be arriving on your doorsteps any day) Your voices were heard and as a result, I prepared what I think hope is a unique and entertaining way of expressing my love for the great John Hughes.

Thanks for having me over to your fabulously fun place, Bethany! *hugs* Not only is Bethany one of my very best friends and crit partners, she's also written a funny, touching, and authentic non-PC contemporary YA coming out from Running Press in 2014. You must read this book...it's FANTASTIC.
And speaking of books coming out in 2014, here is the official Unhinged book trailer:
Here's the official synopsis:
Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the guy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly seductive Morpheus and the vindictive Queen Red. Now all she has to do is graduate high school and make it through prom so she can attend the prestigious art school in London she's always dreamed of.
That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland—where she (partly) belongs.
As prom and graduation creep closer, Alyssa juggles Morpheus’s unsettling presence in her real world with trying to tell Jeb the truth about a past he’s forgotten. Glimpses of Wonderland start to bleed through her art and into her world in very disturbing ways, and Morpheus warns that Queen Red won’t be far behind.
If Alyssa stays in the human realm, she could endanger Jeb, her parents, and everyone she loves. But if she steps through the rabbit hole again, she'll face a deadly battle that could cost more than just her head.

Thank you, AG! Not only for stopping by and offering the Fan Club the opportunity to win these fantastic prizes, but for creating a world so captivating we simply can't get enough of it. January 2014 can't come soon enough.
Because I am the master of all things suspenseful, (It's true, I have seen ALL the Bourne movies!) I'm going to give you just a tiny hint of the awesomeness that will be unveiled here on Monday.
Unless you've been hanging out under a rock, you're well aware that I am obsessed appreciative of the exceptional film work of the late John Hughes. *tips 40oz. for the homies* From Sixteen Candles to Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Hughes mastered the teenage perspective through his unforgettable characters and unique (and sometimes cliche) story lines. It's my affection for this cinematic genius that leads me to today's blog post.
As a member of the YAValentines, I am responsible for completing a Cupid's Arrow challenge approximately every three months. (Cupid's Arrows are challenges professing our love for a certain thing, in a specific way, as suggested by blog followers). Since I'll be dodging my next arrow in June, I decided to peruse the list of submissions to see if anything jumped out at me.BAZINGA!Something jumped out at me all right, and while I can't get into details, I do need a little help from you in preparing for this ridiculously creative challenge.
I've created a poll using, in my opinion, the four most familiar/loved Hughes flicks. Please let me know which is your favorite. Come June you'll see how your input helped me with my Cupid's Arrow.
POLLING IS NOW CLOSED! Be sure to visit the Valentines' blog in June to see if I pulled off my creation or made a public mockery of myself.
